A University of North Carolina (UNC) graduate student has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of an associate professor.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jingbiao Wu, was arrested on Tuesday. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 53-year-old Feng “Jason” Shi, an associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry at UNC.
The shooting occurred on Monday night at Shi’s home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Wu and Shi were acquaintances, and police believe that the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute.
Wu is being held without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
